Indian Space Research Organisation on Monday virtually announced that it is going to adopt 100 Atal tinkering labs to promote education in the fields of STEM and Space Education.
This collaboration of ISRO with Niti Aayog is considered as a part of "Atmanirbhar Bharat". Atal tinkering labs provide workspace mode where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands-on do it yourself mode and can learn innovation skills.
Through this collaboration ISRO provides coaching and mentoring of students in advanced cutting- edge technologies of the 21st century including those related to space. As per Dr. K Shivan, ISRO Chairman, "This project based learning will improve the attitude of students towards research right from school days". This project also helps to foster entrepreneurship and to innovate younger minds.
ATAL Innovation Mission, Niti Aayog has established over 7000 ATL's across the country this enabling more than 3 million students between Grade 6th to 12th to acquire a problem-solving, tinkering and innovative mindset.
Through this project, students can gain practical, theoretical and application based knowledge of STEM and Space Education related concepts such as electronics, physics, space technologies, optics and more subjects. We can make them as a reference to build our future generations with innovative and productive mindset.
