During this time, where the whole world is blown by the outbreak of novel Corona Virus, "Prevention is better than cure". Thus taking this meaning into reality, Air India Express for the first time in country has taken a step to achieve it by introducing robotic technology to clean and fumigate the aircraft interior at Delhi's IGI airport.
Airline in partnership with the ground cleaning agency AISATS to introduce the new technology in airport. The robort was first engaged to disinfect Boeing 737-800 aircraft on 7th January 2021.
On Thursday, Air India Express issued a statement that it has become the first airline in the country to introduce robotic technology to clean and disinfect aircraft interiors and is approved by NABL. The sanitization process inside the aircraft is performed by the UV robot which is attached to the UV Disinfecting clamping system.
The robotic device is also fixed with collapsible arms which is designed to the sanitizing the aircraft seats, under seat areas, inside overhead baggage compartment, aisle ceiling, window panels and cockpit instrumentation area. It easily covers areas which are difficult to reach during manual disinfection.
If it runs for a long time, then they will extend the technology for aircrafts which are operating from other airports on its network.
