Google Calendar is once again launching offline support for desktop users and announced the relaunch via. blog post. Google Calendar's offline feature was withdrawn in 2018 when Google has released a new User Interface (UI) for the Calendar app. Now the user will be able to view their Google Calendar offline for four weeks prior till any time in the future, by day, week or month offline when accessed via computer. The main aim of Google Calendar's relaunch was to make it more useful especially when the users are offline or when they have poor internet connection. Currently offline support is limited to Google Workspace customers. In October Google Calendar also began work integration on Android and iOS.
Google says that for end users, this feature will start running from January 25. As per Google Calendar support page, when Google Calendar is in use, user will not be able to create or edit events, email guests, and access tasks or reminders. Also the offline support for Google Calendar will be cleared when computer's cache is cleared. After that users have to go to settings and have to turn on the Google calendar again.
How to use Google Calendar offline on desktop?• Open Google Calendar in Google Chrome.• Select settings on the top right of browser.• In the General tab, click on the offline option.• Activate the ‘Turn on offline calendar’ option.
Now reload page, to get offline access to Google calendar. After reloading, Goggle calendar will be synced for offline use. Once completed, page will display an update of the status, “Ready for offline”. By default, this feature will be on. But if your account has an administrator, firstly, the user must have to enable it on their Google Admin console.
Offline Calendar feature will be accessible on all tiers including Google Workspace Essentials, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Enterprise, Business, Education, and non-profits customers.
