Oh! Full of dark. What happened in India?
According to a security researcher, over more than 100Million data with sensitive contents of credit and debit cardholder has been leaked in Dark web. Mainly Dark web is related to online transaction. Personal details of several Indian card holders along with their card expiry date, ID and last for digit number were leaked.
One of the famous Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia discovered that data was dumped earlier in this week. He told Gadgets 360 that the leaked data was on sale on the Dark web by a hacker. It happened by hacker was contacting buyers on Telegram and asking payment.
In 2019, sensitive data of over 1.3Million Indian banking customers was also appeared on the Dark web. Researchers also found out that data leaks are getting more common in India. This can be due to vast expansion in digital infrastructure without proper regulations on cybersecurity. The lack of stringent privacy protection law in the country is also putting no compulsion on companies operating in the country to protect their user data firmly.
So we will always try to secure while dealing your personal IDs while using online transaction etc..
