Passwords are an integral part of digital life but are not safe. They can be easily be stolen and are hard to remember and also managing them is a tedious task. Google introduced 2-step verification for its users to protect their personal information and passwords from hackers.

Passwords are very easy to break and in order to keep our accounts, safe strong passwords are required. People often use long and complicated passwords as they think it can reduce security risk but actually the security risk increases. And most people often have the habit of using same password for more than one account which can make all the those accounts vulnerable if any one falls in the trap of a hacker. The situation has become so vulnerable that in 2020, the google search on 'How strong is my password?' increased by 300%.

In case of Google, their prime aim is to make people safe online, so they does invent new tools and technologies to keep our personal information safe especially in case of passwords. So in order to reduce all these security issues Google introduced two-step verification for their users. Using this feature users can confirm their account with a simple tap via a Google prompt on their phone whenever they sign-in to their account using another device. Google says that using mobile phones to sign in gives people a safer and more secure authentication experience than passwords alone can do.

Google recently launched a new Password Import feature to upload 1,000 password at a time from a third party site in to the Password manager. They are taking such a step to protect all the password imported by their advanced security technology. Google is working more to build advanced security technologies to be directly integrated into devices to make this multi factor authentication more seamless and even more secure than a password. It also have other features like Password Import, Password Manager and Security Check-up which are combined with authentication products like Sign-in with Google to reduce the risks of weak credentials. Google is continuously taking efforts to keep the data of the users safe and are developing new tools and features to provide security and protection for the users.
