Air
purifiers or Air cleaners are really useful for removing pollutants in a room and improving the air quality. They are really useful to those who are
suffering from allergy or respiratory disorders like asthma. But the problem is
these purifiers are using certain inorganic methods to its purification. Like
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, Activated carbon methods, Photo Catalytic
Oxidation (PCO). Aerium is an air purifier which was recently manufactured by
the U S Based e-commerce company AlgenAir which strike the market with its
unique feature. Rather than the conventional purifying techniques, these
purifiers use some algae and plants for the purification.
Yes, Aerium is the
world’s first organic Air purifier!
Aerium can remove Carbon dioxide and can
produce oxygen which is equivalent to 25 house plants. These purifiers can
filter out the allergens in air such as dust, pollen, bacteria etc.. This
products work really close to the environment and algae present in the
purifier can be used as an organic fertilizer. Carbon Dioxide are sucked into
the Aerium, it is transformed into Oxygen and emitted into the environment.
For the
effective growth working of the purifier, fresh algae, algae food and replacement of air filters to ensure the system is low and easy to use.
Distilled and bottled water are safe to use for the growth of the algae.
Avoiding tap water is better because it contain chlorine that degrades the
algae. The algae must be changed for every 6-8 weeks or after it starts to run
out of food. Aerium have an inbuilt LED light that enhance the photosynthesis
of the algae. So that it can be used in the rooms that have less sunlight
or other light sources. Extra light sources are also good for the Aerium, that
is more light it receives the algae grows (colour turns to dark green) and more CO2 can be removed.
Aerium is really
a breakthrough in Air purifier’s industry. Aerium comes with an
easy-assemble model that contain a O.2 micro filter, which is a glass container that holds 1.5 litres with a
silicon lid and 0.1 micro filter to prevent of falling of contamination into
the bio reactor. AlgenAir provides different types of algae which offers
customers a variety of colour, but the launched purifier have the algae named
Chlorella, that has the green pigment. Variants in the purifiers are decided to
bring further. These algae can be replaced in 2 months and it can be used as
bio fertilizers or compost.
