Department of Mechanical and Aerospace at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is inviting applications for the post of Research Associate in the domain of MEMS.

Sponsored Project: Design of high accuracy MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope for closed-loop sensing

Duration: 12 months (can be extended up to two or more years or till the closure of the project) 

Eligibility

• PhD with BE/BTech in ME/EE or any other related engineering branch with research mainly focused on MEMS design using MEMS software along with exposure to fabrication.

(or)

• ME/MTech in ME/EE from NITs/IITs/IISc with at least 3 years of experience in MEMS design using MEMS software along with exposure to fabrication with at least 1 Journal publication.
• There will be an advantage for the candidate who has work experience or paper work on MEMS journals.
• Max. age limit: 27 years
• Candidates must not have published their articles or paper works in Predatory Journals.
• Candidates must have a strong academic background and excellent writing abilities.
• Candidates must have a strong mathematical and modelling background in the Multiphysics electromechanical area.

Job Description

• Collection of Relevant literature.
• Creating mathematical models that take into account a variety of design aspects such as manufacturing tolerances etc..
• Modelling and analysis of linear and nonlinear systems.
• Designing highly accurate MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope for closed-loop sensing.
• Must know or have the will to learn about closed-loop sensing to perform closed loop circuit simulation.
• Preparation of reports and lab management.
• Interaction with sponsored organisations, agencies and so on.

Duration

The duration of this post is 12 months. Sometimes it can extend for 2 or more years or till the completion of the project.

• Monthly fellowship will be issued after the monthly progress report is reviewed.
•  If the recruiter is not satisfied with the progress of the candidate, he/she may be asked to leave the post after providing one-month notice.
• If the recruiter is satisfied with the work after 1 year of completion, there is a scope of enhanced fellowship.

• Latest CV which must include marks percentage/CGPA, work experience and publications list.
• Certificates which clearly mention about the candidate, date of birth and marks.
• SOP stating experience in the area.
• At least one good publication in the area of MEMS

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be shortlisted by the selection committee based on the eligibility criteria, academic record and relevant experience. An email invitation for the online interview will be send by the selection committee to the shortlisted candidates. Just meeting the criteria does not guarantee an invitation for an interview. If no appropriate candidate is found, the post will be left vacant and new applications with extended dates will be published.
