Apple to replace all defective AirPods Pro ear buds as they confirmed that units manufactured before October 2020 are facing some issues.
“Apple has determined that as small percentage of AirPods Pro may experience sound issues”, company said on its support page.
According to Apple, user may
feel crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with
exercise or while talking on the phone. Also active noise cancellation won’t be
working as expected, such as loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds,
such as street or airplane noise.
Apple or Apple authorized
services provider will service affected AirPods, free of cost or replace ones
with confined issues. Apple has made this program available worldwide and will
cover affected AirPods Pro for 2 years after first retail sale of unit.
It doesn’t extend standard warranty coverage of AirPods Pro. No other AirPods model will be part of their replacement. AirPods Pro wireless ear buds were launched on November last year and it priced Rs. 24,900 in India.
