Google is secretly working on a new Truecaller like apps

The company hasn't revealed anything officially about this app. But, an ad with the username u/DominusLux, on YouTube sparked off rumours about the upcoming Google Caller ID app. It was first reported by a user on Reddit and spotted by 9to5Google. The user shared a screenshot of the app that clearly shows the Google Call app. “Know who’s calling. Reliable called ID lets you answer with confidence,” the message on the ad reads. There is also an image of how the app is going to look once it is rolled out. The app, just like Truecaller will tell you who is calling.

Google is likely to launch a Truecaller-like app soon. As per reports, the search giant would soon launch a revamped version of the Phone by Google app. Google Call may be the name for this Google App, redesigned icon also spotted online. The app gets a new logo with the four Google colours and called ID functionality to let users know who's on the other end, if the phone number is not stored in contacts. The caller ID feature is already present in the Phone by Google app that is available on the Play store which suggests that Google Call will be a rebrand of the app. The ad reportedly came with a link to install the Phone by Google app, but a report by 9to5Google suggests that this could be part of the big Google Workspace rebranding.
 
Although Google   yet to make an announcement about the upcoming app, Google Call was spotted by user on YouTube. 
 
Google has been adding a number of new features to its phone app including verified calls for business users, which will enable businesses to not just get a verified tag, but also inform users about the purpose of the call to increase the likelihood of a call getting answered.
 
Google phone app has available for non-pixel phones and now the app has got a new caller ID announcement feature which reads out the name and phone number of the caller when the screen is locked. Google also added auto - deletion of Older call screen recordings and transcriptions after 30 days. The phone app also add a "saved voice mails", shortcut in the voicemail tab along with the minor features.
 
As per 9to5 google, 'However, that rebrand would be quite reflective of all the Google smarts in the Phone app today from Call Screen and Hold for Me, as well as spam warning and search.
