Bharti Airtel Limited says its network 5G is ready now: Demonstrates live 5G service in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Bharti Airtel Limited also known as Airtel is on Thursday announced that its 5G network is ready and has become the nation’s first telco to successfully demonstrate and orchestrate live 5G service over a business network in Hyderabad.
Airtel added that for the trial run, Airtel has done this on its existing liberalized spectrum in the 1800 MHz band via NSA network technology. The telco also added that it used dynamic spectrum sharing to operate 4G and 5G on the 1800 MHz band.

Gopal Vittal, the CEO of Airtel, stated that its 5G network is able to provide 10x speeds, 10x latency and 100x competition in relation to existing technologies. When this 5G network was tested in Hyderabad, users were able to download a complete movie within seconds on a 5G phone. The 5G experience will be available to all customers of Airtel when government approvals are received and adequate spectrum is available. There is no need for users to switch SIM cards in order to get 5G services.

Last year, Reliance CEO, Mukesh Ambani had announced that Jio's 5G network will be available in India in the second half of 2021.
