For preventing others from linking user's WhatsApp account to the computer in their absence, WhatsApp is adding another security layer for WhatsApp Web and desktop app linking and logging in.

WhatsApp will ask authentication using fingerprint/face ID in advance when users link their WhatsApp account with computer. After completing the step, users can access the QR code scanner from their phone to complete the entire linking process with the computer. This limits the chances of linking devices of others to your WhatsApp account without your presence. A notification will appear to your phone when a Web or desktop login takes place, and you are able to unlink that device from your phone.

This new feature will reach in coming week. Visual redesign for WhatsApp web pages on phones will also be introduced.

As we all know the use of biometric authentication for security will limit the chances of unusual activities. And the information cannot be stored says WhatsApp. These new update surely help the app to ensure the users security.
