India: OYO's Hotels & Homes released OYO Travelopedia 2020, third annual year-end travel index, which includes analysis of actual bookings, cancellations and  enquiries that took place on OYO. As per the index, January 2020 (pre-covid 19) was marked as the most travelled month but April 2020 witnessed most cancellations hotels across the country due to lockdown announced by the government and when cities started to be opened, December has emerged  most demand month all during the holiday season.

Travel and Hospitality was one of the worst affected industries in India during the pandemic, however with the unlocking of cities, India has become the most booked country and Delhi as the most booked city across the world in 2020. As per the report, over 8.5 million new bookings were made on both the OYO app and website in 2020. A single user has stayed at OYO hotels 128 times only in 2020 showcasing his complete trust in OYO to provide safe and hygienic accommodation. An OYO Hotel in Shahjahanpur and Chennai has a mean occupancy of 100 percent since lockdown.

According to the report, Puri emerged as India's top pilgrimage destination and that was closely followed by Vrindavan, Tirupati, Shirdi and Varanasi. Goa emerged as most favourite beach destination followed by Kochi, Vizag and Pondicherry. In case of business travellers, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad emerged as the most chosen while Jaipur, Goa, Kochi as the favourite leisure place for travellers.
