New Delhi: Reliance Jio on Thursday announced that Jio is going to offer free off-net domestic voice calls from January 1, 2021 all over India. Reliance Jio has come with such a move as the Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) for all domestic voice calls will end from Friday.
“As soon as IUC charges are abolished, Jio will once again make all off-net domestic voice calls free, starting from 1st January 2021”, said Mukesh Ambani in a press release.
In Sept 2019, when the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) extended the timeline for implementation of the Bill and Keep regime beyond January 1, 2021, Jio was left with no choice but to start out charging for voice calls. For the last one year around, Jio was charging 6paise per minute for all outgoing voice call but compensated by giving free data of equal value. As per the the TRAI order there will be no IUC charge from January 1, 2021.
Jio is a customer-obsessed organization and they do care for every single user. Jio stands firm on its commitment to make India a digital society, a society where everything, everyone, everywhere is connected with best quality service that too at the lowest price.
