Bengaluru: Elon Musk's Tesla India has registered with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) as Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Limited at Bengaluru. It was incorporated on 8th January 2021, with Rs 15 lakh authorised capital and Rs 1 lakh paid-up capital and the registered address is in Lavelle Road, Bengaluru.
Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Sreeram and David Jon Feinstein were registered as company directors. Taneja is Chief Accounting Agent at Tesla and Feinstein is Senior Director of Global Trade and New Markets at Tesla. Sreeram is the director in Xenon Automotive India Ltd and Clearquote Technologies India Ltd since April 2004 and August 2020 respectively. Last month, Elon Musk tweeted that Tesla will start operating in India in 2021
According to CNBC, Tesla is having discussions with five state governments- Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to explore the establishment of manufacturing, R&D centuries and hired a world-wide consultancy company for the same.
BS Yediyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister tweeted on Tuesday giving a warm welcome and strong pitch to invite Tesla to the state.
