Where did "WhatsApp no more" movement disappeared?

We forget about the updated privacy policy of WhatsApp and the polemics created. Do the users stop concerning about there privacy and give priority to there convenience?

Yes, WhatsApp came back to people by its easy and friendly handling.

World's most popular instant messaging app WhatsApp gave an alert about its new privacy policy of sharing some information regarding users to Facebook. Users got this notification in the beginning of January. The strategy of this policy is to enhance the marketing/advertising the products in Facebook by understanding the various requirements of users. This is a weird policy put forward by a private messaging app that contradict the privacy and security ensured. This arises a massive criticism and "WhatsApp no more" movement. This was a wild card entry for Signal and a chance for Telegram to be more popular among people by claiming better security features and enhanced user's privacy.

The impact of new terms and policy leads to massive surge in downloading of Signal and Telegram between January 6 and January 10, 2021, days followed by WhatsApp's policy announcement. Signal was downloaded around 7.5 million times globally through App Store and Play Store according to Sensor Tower. It was highest week or monthly install number of Signal in its history.

While 5.6 million downloads of Telegram during the same period. The amazing fact is that the downloads of both apps not even reached closer to active users on WhatsApp. According to Google Play Store WhatsApp was download over 5 billion times in India. Telegram survived by crossing 500 million downloads but Signal managed to crawl past 50 million downloads.

The major reason that compels users to struck in WhatsApp is its easy usage of most of their contacts , groups, chats and media. That means convenience won over privacy.

Facebook owned company announces multiple responses claiming there will not be any sharing of data with other companies and emphasized that users chats and media files remains safe. The decision for postponing the new policy by 3 months helped to conciliate angry among the users.

WhatsApp should take strategies to explain new terms and policies in a better way in order to avoid confusions and concerns of users. The policy has been delayed only and we can't expect much amendments in it. Users got an opportunity to use the platform for some more days. Still it remains as an effective and popular way of communication for casual as well as business or work related exchanges.

WhatsApp Global Head, Will Cathcart, have mentioned in an interview that there will not be any dip in users activity on the platform. Current situation is a wait and watch approach hoping things will settle during these 90 days.
