Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced the introduction of 'Time-lapse feature' in the Google Earth which is its biggest update since 2017. Users will now be able to watch time unfold and it shows four decades of planetary change.
According to the tweet, "Our planet has seen rapid environmental change in the past half-century -- more than any other point in human history. The new Time-lapse feature in Google Earth compiles 24 million satellite photos from the past 37 years into an interactive 4D experience".

Go to g.co/timelapse - where you can search any place on the planet in the search bar where you want to watch time in motion.
Also, more than 800 time-lapse videos have been uploaded for public use at g.co/timelapsevideos . Users can access the videos in 2D or 3D as ready-to-use MP4 videos or in YouTube.
The time-lapse feature provides zoomable, global time-lapse video from various locations on the Earth from 1984 through 2020 and provides visual evidences of influence of climate and human behaviour to different regions of the planet.
Billions of people have been dependant on Google Earth for the past 15 years making it use for exploring the planet. It was successful in creating most realistic digital representation of the planet that have ever been available to the public with features that entertain and enlighten people.
Time-lapse in Google Earth is really a big leap forward.
